Day 1
On her first day, Amelia arrived at Barcelona-El Prat Airport where a hotel transfer was already arranged for her. Since she didn’t want to worry about transportation as a solo traveler, this was all smoothly taken care of through her proposal. She was comfortably taken to her accommodation, chosen from our curated list of top-rated places perfect for first-time solo travelers. After checking in, she had the rest of the day to freshen up and explore the medieval streets at her own pace.

Day 2
Day 2 was all about Barcelona’s famous architecture. Amelia started with a special tour of the Sagrada Familia, a wild, colorful church by Gaudí. Her guide shared fun stories about it, and we planned it to avoid big crowds so she could enjoy it. In the afternoon, she visited Park Güell, checking out its quirky mosaics and the famous lizard statue. The views of the city and the sea were amazing! She ended the day with a traditional spanish tapas and some flamenco show!

Day 3
Day 3 brought Amelia's most anticipated experience - the one perfectly matched to her top priority of food adventures. Her guided tour through Boquería Market and hidden neighborhood gems included tastings of jamón ibérico, fresh seafood, and artisanal cheeses. The day culminated with a hands-on paella cooking class where she mastered the perfect socarrat, exactly the type of immersive food experience she'd requested in her questionnaire.

Day 4
For day 4, we planned Amelia's mountain experience at Montserrat. Knowing she preferred cultural depth over high-adrenaline activities, we arranged the scenic rack railway journey, a visit to the monastery where she heard the famous boys' choir, and easy hiking trails with panoramic views over Catalonia. This gave her exactly the mountain scenery she'd dreamed of when filling out her questionnaire.

Day 5
Amelia kept things easy today, starting with a relaxing morning at Barceloneta Beach - soaking up the sun, listening to the waves, and chatting with friendly locals in Spanish. In the afternoon, she wandered through the charming streets of El Gótico, getting lost among its little alleys, old buildings, and hidden squares. The day ended with a slow walk along the beach and a scoop of gelato, leaving her feeling calm, content, and even more in love with Barcelona.

Day 6
Amelia had a free morning to sleep in or grab a coffee at a favorite spot. In the afternoon, she joined a planned tour of Montjuïc, a hill with awesome views of the city and sea. Before heading up, she strolled down La Rambla, soaking up the lively vibe with street performers and colorful market stalls. She stopped at a cozy tapas bar to enjoy delicious small plates—think patatas bravas, gambas, calamaris and padron peppers, and of course a refreshing pitcher of sangria! The day ended with the Magic Fountain show, where lights, water, and music danced together in a super cool display. It was the perfect way to wrap up her Barcelona adventure.

Day 7
On her final day, Amelia went back to the Gothic Quarter to visit her favorite spots and pick up souvenirs—maybe some local pottery or Spanish candies. She enjoyed a last Spanish breakfast of pan con tomate and a café cortado at a cozy café. With her bags packed and heart full, she headed to the airport in the afternoon, feeling like a confident solo traveler who just had the best trip ever.

"Barcelona turned out to be exactly what I wanted"
This trip exceeded every expectation I had for my first solo adventure! WonderWay gave me the perfect balance of planned experiences and free time to explore on my own. I never would have discovered that amazing food tour or known to visit Montserrat without their local expertise. The language guide was incredible - I felt so much more confident trying to speak Spanish and Catalan with locals. Barcelona turned out to be exactly what I wanted: incredible food, beautiful architecture, amazing nightlife, and that perfect combination of city energy and beach relaxation. The fox really knew what it was doing! I'm already planning my next WonderWay adventure
